O-Train Out Again
This is a release from the City of Ottawa:
Good afternoon Mayor and Members of Council,
I am writing to you about an ongoing partial impact to O-Train Line 1 service.
Repairs underway:
Initial reports from Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) indicate that a gauge on the overhead catenary system was found near Lees Station. Repairs are currently underway and service on both tracks is anticipated to resume later this afternoon.
Current service:
O-Train Line 1 service continues to operate in both directions between Tunney’s Pasture and Rideau stations and Blair and Hurdman stations. R1 is running between Rideau and Hurdman stations.
Staff are at key stations supporting customers and announcements are being made at stations. Updates to customers have been shared across all our communication channels, including octranspo.com, text messages and social media platforms.

Many times reader of the Bulldog have commented on the fact that the O-Train was never tested in the extreme cold weather we receive during Ottawa winters. As everyone is aware, this winter has been unusually mild, but still problems with the reliability of the O-Train persist. Why?
What an unbelievable junk pile bought by the bobbleheads and then mayor “on time on budget” Watson. Postings would be cheaper if they told the public when the LRT was working to full capacity. STILL waiting for a complete audit
Not an engineer, but I can’t see the impact finding a gauge to be a problem . However finding a gouge in the catenary could be an issue.
LRT back up and running… for now.
It’s being reported mayor Sutcliffe showed up and plugged the trains back in.
