Where’s The Transparency Mark Sutcliffe? MULVIHILL

A supervisor has been appointed by the province to oversee the operations of Renfrew Victoria Hospital following a review that uncovered “concerning financial practices.”

If anything screams “concerning financial practices”, the City of Ottawa puts on a master class.

Perhaps Premier Doug Ford would appoint a supervisor to oversee Ottawa’s LRT debacle? Given that confidential meetings took place to discuss multi-million-dollar settlements with unknown parties and amounts. Mayor Mark Sutcliffe campaigned on the promise of transparency. Sutcliffe should keep that promise.

Apparently, Sutcliffe and councillors felt the LRT information was too difficult to understand for residents. Council is using taxpayers money for hush money, so to speak.

Is anyone else tired of being treated like an afterthought? Residents have the right to know the reasons behind the secrecy for the settlements but once the mayor and elected councillors had our vote, residents became less important.

Ford needs to step in to right this severely listing ship before it’s too late.
