Idling Bylaw: It Just Doesn’t Work: PATTON
Ottawa City Council likes to virtue signal but it does accomplish anything tangible:
Mike Patton is the former communications director for Mayor Larry O’Brien and the president of the Ottawa West-Nepean PC Association.

Council should start with insisting/requiring that:
> OC Transpo turn off the roughly dozen buses that are left idling in the bus corral at Tunney’s Pasture (same concept, different numbers at Baseline Station and no doubt other major transit hubs) while their drivers take a well deserved break; and
> Ottawa Police Service officers turn off their vehicles while the direct traffic at any of the endless number of scheduled disruptions to the flow of traffic.
Until then, as Mike suggests, focus on accomplishing something tangible – like finding a solution to why the Confederation Line trains are still not reliable. Or balancing the budget. Or listening to the public, rather than lecturing them on how they should change to meet your narrow minded view of how life should be lived.

Don’t couch your words there. Tell us how you feel.
