Bike lanes on the 417??
I’m sure Bruce’s comment was made tongue in cheek but it is a possible solution. There’s already emergency lanes on both sides of the road, and “whump whumps” on both sides of driving lanes to warn when you are moving onto either shoulder. I’m sure Jeff Leiper would be happy to beta test this potential solution in the interest of his fellow cyclists.
I don’t think cyclists should be allowed on every road – it is dangerous. Keep them in safe corridors and not on roads like Bank St, Wellington,etc. There are other roads, nowhere as busy, where they can be safe

I love “whump whumps”! I don’t know what their official name is but it should be changed to “whump whumps”.
