O-Train Closes On Saturday
This is a release from the City of Ottawa:
Good afternoon Mayor and Members of Council,
This email is a reminder that O-Train Line 1 service will not be running tomorrow, Saturday, October 5, for the entire service day for Stage 2 East integration with existing Line 1 system. A memo sent on September 23 outlining the planned closure is included in this email. As an update to this memo, R1 bus service will be required to operate briefly on Sunday from 8 to 10 am.
For customers this means:
On Saturday, R1 replacement bus service will start at 6 am, which is the normal start time for train service on Saturdays, and will operate between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations for the entire service day.
In addition to R1, a shuttle bus service will run between St-Laurent and Cyrville stations and between Lees Station and Mackenzie King Bridge.
Full Line 1 service is planned to resume on Sunday, October 6 at 10 am, rather than at 8 am as originally planned. This will provide Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) with additional time to prepare the necessary trains for service. R1 replacement bus service will continue to run on Sunday from 8 to 10:30 am.
Line 1 service will resume as early as possible on Sunday, and customers should check octranspo.com and our social media channels for the latest information.
We have been, and will continue to, communicate this information through our customer communication channels.
We understand this work is disruptive to our customers and apologize for any inconvenience. We continue to work collaboratively with both East-West Connectors and RTM to minimize impacts to customers wherever possible.
If you have any questions, please contact Troy Charter, Director, Service Delivery and Rail Operations.
Thank you,
Renée Amilcar
