TTC Fights Fare-Jumpers In New Plan: THE BEAVERTON

As OC Transpo cracks down on its fare-jumping customers, the Toronto Transit Commission has instituted an innovative method to get its customers to pay:

“In an effort to reduce fare evasion, the Toronto Transit Commission has introduced a new initiative: personal fare inspectors for every rider.
Using a Tinder-style app, every TTC rider will get to choose the Personal Fare Inspector (PFI) best suited to intimidate them into spending more money than people in almost any other major city in the world to fund an ostensibly public service.
The PFI initiative will cost the city roughly $200 billion per annum, but the TTC … believes it will pay for itself in peace of mind.”

Officials at OC Transpo said they will propose a similar plan at the next Ottawa City Council meeting.

Asked about this Toronto move, Ottawa transit commission chairman Glen Gower said he loves it.

“Look if something comes from Toronto or, better, Montreal, it must be superior than anything we are doing in Ottawa,” Gower added. “Furthermore, I say yes to everything. That’s why Transpo is the world-class organization it is today. Another three billion bucks? Sure, why not.”

“Oh yeah, and if you’re talking to The Bulldog, tell him to stuff it.” said the former community-newspaper-baron-now-councillor. “That’s journalism? Bite me. You don’t read that crap do you? We did better in Stittsville.”

Asked to respond to Gower’s remarks, “Bulldog editor and janitor Ken Gray would only say: ‘Yeah he’s probably right. Good on ‘im. Keep making OC Transpo the world’s leading transit operator.'”
