“The sun will now rise after 7 a.m. in Ottawa for the next three months.”

Headline from CTV News Ottawa

They’re kind of a bit late on this one.

The sun has been rising late around now in November and the next three months for millions of years.

I think Fred Flintstone might have read this on one of his tablets if the publisher even considered it news.

Ottawa news outlets have had a preoccupation with weather ever since enormous cutbacks in personnel began a decade or more ago.

Why weather?

It’s easy and people read about it.

It’s just a sign of the decline of a once-proud industry.
