Beware The Garbage Police: PATTON

Your hard-earned tax money goes to this garbage:

Mike Patton is the former communications director for Mayor Larry O’Brien and a Conservative activist.

Ed. note: By the way, Mike is absolutely correct. Osgoode (then) Township started a tag-a-bag program so people dumped their extra garbage anyplace they wouldn’t get caught … which was most everywhere. k

If you’re looking for a new adventure career-wise, don’t apply for the garbage police brigade! In other communities, these have been in place for some time.

One of the ways that they investigate who is dumping garbage where they shouldn’t is by taking bags of garbage, opening them and going through the contents in search information on the perpetrators. For example, if they can find discarded mail, they then have a name and address. Doesn’t that sound like a pleasant way to earn your daily bread?

If, on the other hand, you are the type of ne’er-do-well that would put your garbage anywhere other than the end of your driveway, just remember to ensure there’s no identifying information in it. And that addressed mail? It probably belongs in the recycling bin anyway, not the garbage.

The Voter: thanks for the heads up, when the city went to garbage pick up every 2 weeks we had an incident in our neighbourhood park. Overnight numerous garbage bags and boxes full drywall were dumped in the park, I suspect no mail in them. The crime remains unsolved and case remains open. It’s probably in the cold case filing cabinet by now.
