Commanda Bridge To Close Monday
This is a release from the City of Ottawa:
—
North bridge pier concrete work (Closure Monday, November 18)
Due to some challenges related to higher-than-normal water flows in the Ottawa River, and much higher volume of concrete required for pier 2 of the north bridge than other completed piers, the contractor needs to close the bridge again on Monday, November 18* from 7 am to 10 pm to complete work related to this week’s pour activities.
Just the north bridge will require closure during their operations. Cyclists and pedestrians will be able to access the south bridge up to Lemieux Island and return the same way.
The closest alternate routes to cross the Ottawa River would be via the Chaudière Bridge to the east and the Champlain Bridge to the west.
Clear signage announcing the closure will be posted on both the north and south approaches to the bridge and the traffic map will be updated to inform all users.
*The date depends on weather conditions and equipment availability. In the event of changes, the project web page and notice boards will be updated accordingly.
