Congratulations to the Bridlewood Community Association and thank you to everyone.

A well-advertised and promoted food drive was held in the Kanata South Bridlewood area. Paper bags with clear instructions as to who, what, when, where and why were delivered to nearly every home. Residents were asked to lend their support to help the less fortunate and shore necessities such as food and supplies at the Kanata Food Bank warehouse.

Well … the turn-out was absolutely amazing and lifted spirits throughout the neighborhood. Bags and boxes were collected by volunteers and brought to a central meeting place where everything was loaded into a large truck and delivered to the warehouse. More than 26,000 pounds of food and household supplies as well as $2,000 were donated! That is a truly exceptional haul and will ensure families and individuals in need will be taken care of for a little while anyway.

Kudos and heartfelt thanks to the BCA and especially vice-president Erin Coffin, her trusty sidekick Terri, and to everyone who donated and showed up to make this possible … a job so very well done.
