This is the traffic on Hunt Club Road on Friday around 11 a.m. … not exactly rush-hour. Drivers were choosing this route instead of the Highway 417 detour.

Wasn’t there talk of a Ring Road many years ago? Even before this fiasco they could have used one but hey that’s Ottawa.
Actually, it looks pretty close to a normal day. Ever since the decimation of the city’s bus service simultaneous to opening an LRT that does not work, and the completion of the Hunt-club-417 on ramp at Hawthorne, it has been nothing but congestion.
