Kelly: Time For Office Move: MULVIHILL

It’s just a suggestion but West Carleton-March Councillor Clarke Kelly might want to rethink his constituency office location.

Kelly’s short fuse and disgusting confrontation with daycare staff must be addressed. According to integrity commissioner Karen Sheppard, the councillor was loud and aggressive with daycare staff. He also used inappropriate language with his own office staff.

Apparently, Kelly had previous noise complaints about the very same children’s daycare. Imagine a children’s daycare and summer camp being noisy. How incredibly irresponsible for daycare staff to permit little ones to play outside and allow the children to be noisy. What were they thinking?

Screaming and swearing at daycare staff and his own staff … either Kelly wasn’t thinking or this is just him and, if so, he is a sad representation for his community.

Is this a new location for the West Carleton councillor’s office since Kelly was elected? My understanding is it’s the same place as was used by previous councillors. If so, they seem to have been able to tolerate their neighbours. Why has it been such a problem for Kelly?

The city prefers to have councillors rent space in city facilities. It keeps the monthly rent expense in house. From an accounting (and cash) perspective, the rent expense comes from the councillors’ ward budget and goes into the city’s rent income account.
