Lisa MacLeod For Mayor? POTTER

This is actually a very interesting post on X from University of Ottawa professor Evan Potter.

Former Ontario cabinet minister and local MPP Lisa MacLeod has rock-star status in Barrhaven and environs … in fact throughout the western suburbs and rural areas. When she got involved in the refugee sprung structure debate, the issue went red hot.

If MacLeod ran for mayor, she would probably win. Name recognition, strong political base where much of the population resides and a lot of dissatisfied Ottawans with Lansdowne and transit. She would prompt a strong turnout for the Oct. 26 municipal election.

Palliative Care Access In Doubt: POLL

That said, doubtful MacLeod would run because she seems to have had her fill of politics. But absence from the political scene does make the heart grow fonder … particularly when you’re as tuned into politics as MacLeod. It has been her life.

Wow. What a wild ride that mayor’s race would be … the most interesting election since businessman Larry O’Brien defeated Bob Chiarelli and Alex Munter in 2006.
