Police Target Downtown Safety

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is launching a new Downtown Core Safety Plan aimed at improving safety, visibility, and community well-being across Ottawa’s downtown core, including the ByWard Market, Centretown, Chinatown, Bank Street, and the Parliamentary District.

The plan responds to ongoing public safety and social disorder challenges in some of the city’s most active and visible neighbourhoods. It brings together increased police presence, targeted enforcement, and strong partnerships with the City of Ottawa and community agencies to address crime, disorder and vulnerability in public spaces.
