Canada’s health-care system continues to grapple with major challenges and competing priorities, but one area drawing increasing attention is palliative care.
While often associated with end-of-life treatment, palliative care extends far beyond this narrow perception, offering physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological support at any stage of illness. Yet despite its importance, public understanding remains uneven, and access across the country is inconsistent, shaped by geography, capacity, and system-level constraints.
