Sounds like Peel is putting dignity and humanity ahead of bureaucratic tunnel vision.

  2. Ron Benn says:

A prudent councillor or 24 might ask staff whether they considered converting existing buildings, and if they did consider it, why was that alternative dismissed in favour of the not temporary sprung structure.

Not temporary because plumbing (water and sewer) needs to be brought out to site. Not temporary because the tent needs to be on a permanent (read concrete) base. To be clear here. The Woodroffe and Hunt Club site will never be restored as green space. Never. And that means that the solution is not temporary.

It seems that misinformation is a two way street. Some is cast by those who do not want a ‘welcoming centre’ in their neighbourhoods. Some is cast by the people who strut around the halls on Laurier Avenue.

Sounds like Peel has developed a plan as opposed to putting a group of people in a room and telling them to play eenie meenie.
