Patton Vs. Plante On Sprung Structures
Rideau-Vanier Councillor Stephanie Plante has come out against attendees to a Barrhaven sprung structure meeting surrendering their personal information to potential political candidates.
Bulldog commentator Mike Patton wonders why someone in Rideau-Vanier would be interested in Barrhaven politics because Barrhaven has never been interested in Vanier politics.

So is Mike for or against collecting an individuals contact information for an event to be held in a municipal building?
I’m not clear as to why a person needs to sign up to attend. As someone who lives in Nepean shouldn’t I be able to attend this public? event without signing up.
I was very disappointed to see Karen McCrimmon accuse anyone against Sprung shelters as a right-wing radical or a racist. I think it ridicules those with legitimate concerns about these shelters. Most of the time they show the luxurious pictures from the hospital, where during covid no expense was spared, but in reality it will be more like the poor set up in Toronto, except with partitions. Essentially wide open with little privacy and a common area where they can gather. CBC also reported that there was a minor crime wave when the refugees came in, although it did calm down. It is ok for people to have concerns, but it isn’t ok to diminish those concerns through personal attacks.
