So Boy-Oh. Where Did That Come From?
A couple of people asked me about the term boy-oh that your agent used in the post Senior Transit Pass: The Bulldog For Sale.
The Bulldog picked it up having re-watched one of the great films of our generation L.A. Confidential. It is Irish, sometimes Welsh but often Irish American. A term of endearment, apparently.
Here is a scene from the movie where boy-oh is used prominently in one of the best dying scenes in movie history. How Kevin Spacey pulls this off is just amazing.
Enjoy the clip, boy-oh:

Although I have heard the term before, I didn’t remember the scene from L.A Confidential. However, U2 (Irish rockers) and The Clash (English punkers) slipped the term into a couple of their songs.
