Terminate The Tewin MOU: BENN
To Rideau-Jock Councillor Brown:
There are ways to accomplish indirectly what you cannot accomplish directly.
The city should give notice to the Tewin developers that the MOU is being terminated. Hand over whatever work the city planners being funded by Tewin have created.
Then instruct staff, discretely and indirectly, to adopt a push-on-a-rope response strategy for Tewin. Planning staff are very skilled at this, as it is the same approach that planners take for input from the public.

for a fuller context on Councillor Brown’s pickle re . costs etc … let’s remember that from the get go ( right after he was elected 2 years ago ) he was telling everyone that he was going to promote an incinerator for our waste; then a year ago he last minuted a proposal a $500,00 study on incineration, which is just now getting underway; if the City’s regressive councillors still think that incineration is the way to go ( incl. Brown) then that’s another ~ $ 400/ $500 million ; so calculatingly this Tewin thingy and all that $$$, might get in the way of his aspirations for an incinerator. Same could be said for Lansdowne and all that moola … and the new arena ( Lebreton ) that the City will somehow or other be asked to fork over more $$$ for.
