Watson Ponders More Politics: THE VOTER

There’s no question that one of the fairies that was present at Jim Watson’s birth gifted him with charm.

What we don’t know was whether that was one of the good fairies or the other kind. I’ve often wondered how he would have turned out without that gift of charm, where he would have ended up.

I do hear via the grapevine that he hasn’t abandoned the thought of moving to federal politics should the Ottawa Centre seat become available. Or, frankly, any seat. Not as attractive but still on the table is a bid to return to Queen’s Park which, with Joel Harden stepping aside, is not beyond the realm of possibilities.

You have to wonder if his health is up to a return, at any level, to the life of a politician. The stress and irregular hours, meals and sleep are rough enough on someone in peak condition. It will be something he has to consider carefully. Even charm can’t get you through if your body says “No!”.

With every person in Ottawa, no matter their colour, religion or political bias very upset about the LRT and how it was handled, no one has brought Ottawa together on an issue like Jim Watson. I personally don’t dislike him, but I think unanimously, not a lot would ever vote for him again

    God help us
Liberals never remove themselves from the public trough.
Make a mess ….suck the public dry
Then come back to do more damage

Meanwhile other decent polititians are left with the mess, debt, cleanup and blame.

If we wish to save Canada, the liberal party should be outlawed..

Charm fades quickly as a useful asset as we have witnessed recently with our once-charming (gag) Prime Minister.

I thought you were bang on until realizing I misread the headline, read pandering instead of pondering.

You and Jeff Bezos should get together.

Would Jim run as a federal Liberal? Where? As a provincial Liberal? Against Catherine McKenney in Ottawa Centre? Against Chandra Pasma in Ottawa West-Nepean? Not likely.

  7. The Voter says:

    Alex,

Ottawa-Centre will be wide open with Joel Harden’s departure and has previously been a Liberal seat. As was Ottawa West-Nepean, as you know well.

Remember that Jim’s opinion of himself far exceeds the one he has of Catherine and he will see her as beatable.
