Actually, the root cause of the fines is the costly projects the city has undertaken and can’t afford. With minimal increase in municipal taxes (thank goodness) the city has to earn revenue somehow to cover these costs. Pity the poor by-law officers who have to play the bad guys in all this.
Only in Ottawa can they city decide that basket balls and where the hoop is hanging. I can’t stand the city or any of them. They always find stupid things to do except the real things like the LRT,. Who cares about the basket ball and where the hoop is. Gosh all they are doing is not allowing the kids play without getting into trouble. I feel for all the kids if they have to take the basket ball and hoop down. By law must have something better to do like sitting where all those fools are with their “hot rods” and other speeders in the city. Where I live that is all we can hear cars racing and motorcycles racing also. We can’t call By Law after 11 p,m, and those people know this and that is when the noise gets louder. Boy oh boy I sure can’t wait for the elections for the city happen because if I have my way not one including this strange mayor will get my vote.
