Letterman, Colbert Get Revenge On CBS: GRAY
Okay, I can take a hint … this is not municipal affairs but I have not laughed out loud doing The Bulldog in a long time … but this it. And it’s my website damn it. I’ll do what I please.
Let me tell you the City of Ottawa podcasts Ottatalk and Ottawa At Night do not have this kind of stuff.
I grew up watching David Letterman and have enjoyed his successor Stephen Colbert for decades. Colbert has been canned by CBS with his last show next Thursday. Colbert invited Letterman on the show to help celebrate his leaving.
This is vintage and classic Letterman that somehow his spirit has been lost on the Late Show for many years.
Maybe I should have done this when I retired from the Ottawa Citizen but the building is only two storeys high so what’s the damage? Not worth it. Furthermore the edifice is being knocked down for condos. I could never have done that. That’s a prank that’s bigger than me.
Just desserts.
Hey look, Your Worship … no balloons.
Watch these two videos below for a great laugh:

Colbert and Letterman brought back Dave’s “Destroying Stuff” bit from the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater one last time….and Dave with an epic goodbye for CBS:

And for those of you who didn’t see the segment between the two clips above, in which David and Stephen had to seek out chairs once theirs were removed, I suggest you watch the missing clip.
And Ken, as a music guy, I’m surprised you didn’t mention Paul Shaffer (he of Thunder Bay), and Louis Cato and the Great Big Joy Machine who will now be seeking employment elsewhere.
