O-Train To Be Repaired Friday
Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) has completed an assessment of the damage discovered during an overnight inspection and determined that trains can safely operate on both tracks between uOttawa and Hurdman stations at a reduced speed. Repairs will be completed later tonight, after service ends for the day.
For customers this means:
Line 1 is now available at all platforms between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations.
Customers traveling eastbound between uOttawa and Hurdman will experience longer travel times as train speeds are reduced.
Additional buses continue to operate on E1 from Blair to downtown to better support customers
R1 bus service from Tunney’s Pasture to Rideau station will end after the morning peak period

This is a release from the City of Ottawa.

We have observed low passenger volumes, so far this morning, and staff are at stations to support customers.
Information is being shared with transit customers through social media, text alerts and station announcements. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
Thank you,
Troy Charter
Interim General Manager, Transit Services Department

Service is definitely improving even if the trains aren’t. Public announcements online and staff availability onsite to guide passengers along their merry way are a big step forward in terms of recognizing the importance of customers. Thumbs up to Rick Leary and Troy Charter.
