Planning Department Has Gone Rogue: READER

A short but important few words from long-time Bulldog reader John Langstone:

Why the theatrics of naming a “nightmayor” (nightlife commissioner) to do work that could be contracted out if staff hasn’t the resources or skill to do?

What are BIAs doing about the issue? Night Mayors, Shawarma Capital, naming snow plows and such look a bit like planned diversions from issues like the radical and invasive zoning bylaw process on Ottawa residential neighbourhoods by a planning department that appears to have gone rogue.

Would love to have a summary from John Langstone in support of the Planning Dept having gone rogue. This is something I would share widely!
