Potter’s Alarming Post Is Required Reading

I would direct Bulldog patrons to read uOttawa associate professor Evan Potter’s post this morning on this website.

It is one of the most significant pieces of municipal journalism to be written in recent years. The Potter post encapsulates what myself and others close to the municipal field have seen transpire at Ottawa City Hall over the last 14 years. The situation is becoming worse because of the diminution of municipal journalism with the demise of conventional media. View few people are watching.

Potter is an expert in the field and a keen observer of things Ottawa.

What Potter has written is sadly true with implications in many areas of civic government. The things that Potter illustrates is the reason your agent continues to write The Bulldog.

There is not only a democratic deficit at city hall but a journalism deficit as well.
