I suspect this is a Bulldog item because it shows some people incorrectly pin interest rates on a politician. And also, some politicians incorrectly claim they alone can fix the issue. To have Both in one sentence as it is in this case is a double dose of BS. Other countries greater than ours also have higher interest rates, from left and right wing governments: Canada 5 %
    United Kingdom 5.25 %
    United States 5.5 %
    Indonesia 5.75 %
    Saudi Arabia 6 %
    India 6.5%
South Africa 8.25 % ……and many are worse. It is always good to compare internationally to see it is a mostly non-political issue. In most cases the current interest rate remains in the same + or – a small difference as ours. Beware of claims we are really different.

    Andrew:

    I’m not sure you’re getting Kinsella’s point.

Irrespective of the fact that the Bank of Canada sets interest rates, the public blames those rates on Trudeau.

Many don’t understand the separation of church and state that the B of C has from politics.

The autonomic reaction is blame it on Trudeau.

    cheers
