Former mayor and Calian founder Larry O’Brien has no love for the Ottawa Citizen.
This article brings a smile to my face.
The Ottawa Citizen and the various journalists involved were self-righteous zealots.
The Immediate Danger To Media, Freedom and Democracy
They bullied anyone who did not meet their standards of being part of the liberal elite.
The Citizen deserves the fate it brought on itself.

While the Citizen wasn’t as bad as legacy media outlets like the Red Star,etc. I have to agree with him here, the MSM refuses to read pun intended) the room and it has lead to their demise.

Larry, the Citizen is in its death throes. Death by roller skate. It’s not pretty way to go.
All I can say is that when you leave this earthly firmament for that great council chamber in the sky 30 years from now, the Citizen will write you a very nice obit if it’s still around.
Note that I said you have 30 more years, so you must be in very good health, That’s good.

I think there’s a typo in Mr O’Brien’s comment. He mentions the small “l” liberal elite. I think he meant the Liberal elite.
Mr O’Brien is only happy at the demise of The Citizen because losers like company.

He’s done very well for himself and had a highly successful business career.
Loser? No.
