City Hall Picks Frills Over Basics: BENN
Ottawa City Hall has a long track record of choosing nice-to-have at the expense of must-have.
This isn’t just a funding problem. It isn’t limited to health inspectors (see zero availability of ambulances).
Begging the province for more money is a distraction from the real problem. And that is that neither staff nor council are capable of making difficult decisions. Of understanding the concept of priorities. Of understanding that ‘must have’ overrides ‘nice to have’ each and every time.
That ‘or’ is the operative term, not ‘and’.
