Get It Right OPS: THE VOTER
People rely on the information they release and, among other things, plan for their own safety based on it. What’s the point of being told something quickly if it’s wrong because the police are in too much of a hurry to get it right?
If they head off in the wrong direction because they’re doing sloppy work, that means they may lose valuable evidence that could be the key thing that solves the case. Often if you’re on the wrong path, a correction isn’t as simple as backtracking to where you started. Communications aren’t “timely” if they’re useless and the receiver of the information has to independently confirm it before they can use it.
“Slow but steady wins the race’ is a proverb the police might want to look into adopting.”
The Voter is a respected community activist and long-time Bulldog commenter who prefers to keep her identity private.
