Could it be maintenance work in preparation for Remembrance Day? Trying to be hopeful. I can’t clearly see in the picture but it looks like some of the stones were lifted in a way that might be consistent with maintenance work.
Who’s actually responsible for local cenotaphs like this one and the one in Vanier? Would it be the local Legion or the feds? I’m asking because I know many Legion branches are losing members and, in some cases, folding as veterans die off.
