Ice Storm Will Be A Big Test Of LRT

Tonight brings us a huge test of Ottawa’s troubled light-rail system.

Ten to 15 mm of ice is expected to accumulate overnight and into tomorrow morning. The Confederation Line failed during a small ice storm earlier in the winter when a little bit of ice crippled parts of the train’s electric system. This is expected to be a large storm.

With that previous problem and if there’s a serious problem tonight, we need, yet again, to think hard about what we want to do with this faulty LRT.
