Merry Christmas From A Total Stranger

Nothing screams Happy Holidays more than a Christmas card from a total stranger who is a politician:

Kind of makes you feel all ucky inside.

Have you signed up yet Ken?

This is a man begging to be popular. I wonder how he fared with the bullies in the schoolyard.

    Merrill:

Someone else is supposed to sign a person up.

I’m waiting for Watson to put me on Sutcliffe’s list. Never made the Watson xmas card list.

    cheers

  4. Merrill Smith says:

I could do it — for a fee.

  5. The Voter says:

    Ken,

It says “if you or anyone you know” wants a card, you can sign up so you could put your name in for this dubious honour yourself. I think all of us should just nominate you. I just know you want to be in with the cool crowd – NOT!

Sisco’s point is well taken. It does rather devalue receiving the card when you do have a legitimate connection to the mayor when you know that any Tom, Dick or Ken could have one for the asking.

From past experience, I know that when you make it onto any politician’s Christmas card list, you also get on the list for solicitations for money and other supports when said politician is campaigning for office or needs visible supporters for any other reason. By signing on for this, you are giving your name, address and possibly email and phone number to someone who will potentially use it for their own purposes in the future and might not otherwise have access to your personal information.

    You’re pretty cool … so … see?
