Well, lookie here. Take a peek at who’s back. None other than video commentator, our own, Mike Patton.

Welcome back, oh mighty seer of things municipal.

Today, he deals with incompetence and city hall:

#Ottawa Incompetence

Mike Patton is the former communications director for mayor Larry O’Brien and a Conservative activist.

The new council has proven how invaluable a role Diane Deans and Carol Anne Meehan played in keeping the incompetents on their toes. They are sorely missed, although Wilson Lo has been a great addition.

    Sisco:

You’re right. You can’t replace Deans and Meehan … they were far too valuable.

Wilson Lo is probably the best of the new councillors, so far.

    cheers

It’s of interest that Wilson Lo is a former bus driver and also worked in communications for OC Transpo. I wonder what he thinks of the verbiage flowing out of OC these days. He would have the advantage, when reading the memos and so on that are coming to Council, of knowing the M.O. and lingo of the department they come from and can probably read between the lines for the real message.

It’s unfortunate that Carol-Anne was so badly burned the last time she tried her hand at elected office. I would be very surprised if there’s anyone who could persuade her to come back. Maybe it’s time to start a movement to draft Diane to come back in the next round as Mayor. Any path she would take us on would be up from here.
