Nussbaum Backs His Old Ward On East-End Bridge

The Voter, as ever, presents a very logical explanation to why no progress is being made on an east-end bridge. Political expediency.

Thinking that the National Capital Commission might turn its attention to that infamous east end bridge? Don’t hold your breath,

Remember that NCC chairman Tobi Nussbaum was a city councillor before he went to the Crown corporation. He represented Rideau-Rockcliffe ward. What was the position of his Rockcliffe and Manor Park constituents was on the subject of the bridge?

Bridge Early, NCC? How About LeBreton?

He is well-versed in all the reasons such a bridge should not happen and likely a bit unclear on any reason why it should. Unless, of course, it’s out around the Cumberland area. It’s unlikely that any bridge proposals are likely to be generated by the NCC any time soon.

Meanwhile, what are Mayor Mark Sutcliffe’s feelings are about a bridge. Does his donor list look anything like former mayor Jim Watson’s ? Because we know that Watson was beholden to people living in Nussbaum’s ward to the extent that he made sure any talk of a bridge was promptly scuttled while he was emperor mayor.
