Snow, Ice Halt O-Train During Morning Rush
This is a release from the City of Ottawa:

Good morning Mayor and Members of Council,
This email is to provide a brief update on transit services during today’s challenging weather conditions.
On O-Train Line 1 shortly before 6:10am, a westbound train came to a stop due to a technical issue at Bayview Station. When the operator could not resolve it, technicians were dispatched for further troubleshooting. During this time, Line 1 continued to operate with single track service between Tunney’s Pasture and Lyon stations. Customers were required to transfer at Lyon Station to continue their trips. OC Transpo staff were at key stations to assist customers in continuing their trips.
The train has now been removed from the line and full service across the system resumed before 9:30am.
Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) will be further investigating the cause of this morning’s issue and currently believe that the wet snow and drop in temperatures overnight may have impacted the affected train’s communications-based train control system.
RTM deployed teams to clear snow and ice by hand from track-side equipment to ensure service can continue to operate safely.
Bus and Para Transpo services continue to operate in the current challenging weather. Customers should expect delays as operators adjust driving behaviours to road conditions.
Shortly after 6:40am, a bus operator reported that their bus had travelled off Frank Kenny Road. The Transit Operations Control Centre requested the assistance of emergency services who were dispatched to the scene. There were no passengers on board and no other vehicles involved.
We continue to share updates on octranspo.com, our social media platforms and real-time information is available for customers on the Transit App. Updates will continue to be shared with customers on all of these channels.
The OC Transpo team continues to monitor the weather forecast and is implementing our robust winter operations plan throughout this weather event to keep our city moving.
Thank you,
Renée Amilcar

WOW what a city, LRT Trains stopping mid route, double decker buses flipped off the roads, rock band tattoos, schools closed cuz of the solar eclipse, fire bans during heaviest snow storm of the season and the list does on… This will give Mayor Sutcliffe a lot to work with while in London.
The only question remaining, will Mayor Sutcliffe get a Sadiq Khan tattoo while in London?
Kosmo:
You can’t make this stuff up. Our city provides the best material for The Bulldog.
cheers

I heard there is a RFP being drafted for snowshoes. These will be given out free to anybody boarding the LRT between November and May!
