A Last Look At The Citizen Newsroom

 

This room was so full of life a long time ago …

People used to ask me why I retired. I said I didn’t want to be the guy who turns out the lights. I wonder who did the deed.

This room was my home for a couple of decades. Nothing replaces a newsroom. You see an empty room but I see a few people who were dedicated to keeping people informed and making Ottawa a better place.

    It will certainly be easier for the employer to continue the depletion of the ranks of journalists when each of them is reporting from home and nobody sees the desks being emptied.

    Thanks for the kind comments, Ken. I have fond memories of the days when newspaper work was actually fun … the 8 years at the LP in Regina amongst them!
