Citizen, CTV’s McGregor Says Goodbye And Hello

CTV journalist Glen McGregor is leaving the airwaves, a victim of the draconian cuts at Bell Media.

Glen is one of the best investigative journalists this country has ever seen and, no doubt, will ever see.

Glen hung in there when the rest of us abandoned ship. Most of us, like myself, retired rather than face the day that McGregor did recently. That he was able to keep doing what he loved, as do most journalists, is testimony to his great ability and importance to a news operation.

Newsrooms Matter, The Bulldog Matters

The fallback position in this round of layoffs is that the Bell Media layoffs are an outrage but they are not. The reason is very, very simple: TV, radio and newspapers don’t work any more and are just hanging on by a thread.

I don’t really know what will replace them but it won’t be as good as my former Citizen colleague McGregor:
