What’s Short For Kichi Zibi Mikan?

Your agent is not sure this is politically correct so, who knows, this might get political blow-back but here is former councillor Gord Hunter’s take on the new name of the Ottawa River Parkway.

Hunter wonders what will be the colloquial shortform for Kitchi Zibi Mikan. You know, like SirJam Parkway except new and improved.

Can’t wait for an update to my GARMIN navigation maps so that I can hear the oral instruction murder KZM in English . . and then switch to French to hear another equally garbled pronunciation.

“Kichi Kichi Ya Ya” (?) was a song in the 70s or 80s wasn’t it ? Maybe it’ll make a big comeback in Ottawa and the songwriters will hit the jackpot through royalty payments. But, if memory serves, I don’t think it will count as Canadian content.
