Devine Gets Transport Primer From The Voter

The Voter, a long-time Bulldog commenter, gives Knoxdale-Merivale Councillor Sean Devine a less in transportation:

Maybe Councillor Devine needs to understand that cars and transit aren’t an either-or situation.

You can have both at the same time by setting up transportation systems that allow cars, buses and even bicycles to co-exist. There are places that can only be accessed by a car in this town and there are places where transit (when it’s operating) is more efficient. In order to develop those systems that work together, you have to do a thing called planning, something this city does atrociously if at all.

Councillor Opts For Noversight: WHOPPER WATCH

Given the ward he represents, it’s surprising he doesn’t know how people get from place to place. He also should be aware that, without “free-flowing traffic”, buses can’t get around the city. Trains, buses and automobiles are interdependent and residents use them all to get around.

Voter. In my opinion trying to teach the basics to most councilors is akin to herding cats. They just do not listen and go their merry own way.
