Let’s Ask Ottawans: Do You Want Lansdowne 2?

One more thing on the Lansdowne 2 question.

Why don’t we ask Ottawans would you like to pour more of your taxpayer money into Lansdowne 2?

I’m guessing the answer is no. Who wants to pay $175 million or more for an operation that makes money through real estate dealings with developers (not for us but the developers)?

LANSDOWNE: Elevator, Elevator, We Got The Shaft

What’s in it for Ottawans? I know what’s in it for Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group, but what’s in it for you and me?

Why am I paying more money to support rich guys?

And make sure the ballots aren’t counted by the city. Let’s leave it to honest responsible citizens of Ottawa.

  1. Robert Roberts says:

NO. Didn’t want the airport hotel and don’t want our $$$ going to Lansdowne 2.

  2. Kosmo says:

We don’t have to ask all Ottawans, just a few potential tenants. I was down their on Sunday and a lot of empty locations. if there was an elections coming up it would be a tight race between For Rent and A Louer… they had signs in every second window.

  3. Ron Benn says:

Kosmo, imagine how attractive a retail/commercial/office lease will be while Lansdoome hosts a 2-5 year construction site.

  4. Kosmo says:

Mr. Benn, a 5 year construction site with a few more empty locations no farmers market, no junior hockey and one entrance for football… sounds attractive enough to keep everybody away.

  5. Richard says:

Tear it down (leave the Aberdeen pavilion in place) and put up a tree-filled park.
