This email is to provide Council with an update on the full restoration of service on O-Train Line 1.
Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) has completed the required inspections to safely restart Line 1 service along the entire system. R1 bus service will conclude shortly.
We are advising customers through our communications channels. OC Transpo staff continues to be at key stations to assist customers with their trips.
Here’s The Transcript Of Wednesday Light-Rail Chat
While our region experienced a significant weather event that continues to affect many services, an investigation to determine the root cause of this incident is underway. Staff will assess additional measures that may help to mitigate similar service disruptions in the future.
OC Transpo recognizes this has been a very frustrating and challenging time for our customers, and sincerely appreciates their?patience.
Thank you,
Renée Amilcar

Build a roof over the whole of the “system”? LRT works well? in warm sunny days, the time when most people do not mind being outside. When the weather is miserable LRT fails and folks are put into a miserable state.
Yes, it’s back but until when is the question.
I see a great fundraising opportunity here. Perhaps OC Transpo will see good reasons not to avail themselves of it but it might be a good chance for a community group to make some money. They could have people bid on when the next LRT failure will happen. A second stream could be bids on how long it will be out for. For a third bidding line, you could have people predict the reason for the failure.
Unfortunately, a potential fourth possibility won’t work with the current groups around the table. It would have given bidders the chance to try to predict who would take responsibility for the failure. Since nobody ever takes responsibility for anything connected to LRT, that’s a dead end.
