MARK SUTCLIFFE TWEET: Just Say Sorry
This is Mayor Mark Sutcliffe’s tweet Wednesday afternoon on the Confederation Line outage:
Just say sorry and this tweet is great. But then it’s sorry and an excuse. People saw the storm and knew the train was down. They didn’t need to be told that the train went down in bad weather. Furthermore, people are tired of the train failing and yet another apology.
This tweet smacks of media relations or a full Watson because that’s their style. Sutcliffe is a gentleman and doesn’t need help writing this.
Just sorry. That does it.

Why did he wait until the end of the day to say something? A real mayor , a leader, would have been out front when the trains stopped. Not hiding until his media release was prepared by Watson and his crew. He is turning out to be the disappointment I predicted in October.
Sutcliffe will not apologize for the abysmal failure of the LRT during the inclement weather because he fears that would imply he is responsible.
This is nothing less than communications dodge-ball.
Mayor Sutcliffe is frustrated, couldn’t imagine how he would feel if he needed the LRT as his only source of transportation.
