Police Hypocrisy On Traffic Laws Is Astounding
“Every time an infraction, be it red light or speeding, comes to our office, we do have a triage sort of process of understanding what the member was doing at the time. We do try to determine what they’re doing at the time of the infraction and then a determination is made on what path to go from that conclusion.”
Police chief Eric Stubbs on officers running red lights and speeding
There is a term for the above but unfortunately we can’t use it because this is a family publication. Triage, my butt.
In 2022, there were 79 red light camera infractions and 189 photo radar camera tickets issued to Ottawa Police Service officers.
Is the Ottawa Police Services Board looking into this problem? Not very thoroughly would be your agent’s suspicion. If the OPS and the OPSB get any tighter, they’ll have to get a room.
Officer Responds Oddly To School Invitation
Complaints about OPS members can be dealt with by informal resolution, informal discipline or formal discipline.
Well I wonder what two options the OPS chooses?
By the way, the very effective excuse is: “I was on a call and that’s why I was speeding but I got called off the emergency.” And then you turn into Timmy’s. We’ve related that episode previously in The Bulldog.
With the mountains of misconduct that the OPS has done over the past few years, the hypocrisy of the tweets below are off the charts:
Lecture the public with your grade-school admonitions when you start doing the right thing, too.
Until then, get better.
By the way, if you’re looking for an excuse for breaking traffic laws and getting off with less than a wrist slap, The Bulldog has kindly provided it above.
Happy motoring.
