It’ s insane to think that a 3rd tower will be for affordable housing in any way. Who does OSEG think they are.?
Frank, material changes to a plan that are announced at the last minute are indicative of desperation. Desperation by OSEG. Desperation by planning staff. Desperation by certain the members of council. Desperation by all those who can see and smell the smoke. For those who fear that Lansdowne 2.0 will go down in flames.
Ron:
You are absolutely right … but I don’t see how staff and OSEG make the connection between another tower and getting this thing passed.
If anything, another tower alienates the Glehe if not more people. You’re right about what they’re trying to do … no question … but the proponents radar is way off on the effect on council and the public.
cheers

Typical of how the `city`conducts these `public`presentations. First those opposed then those who are in support of the mayors stance? OSEG and those who are in favour seemed to say that the reason for what is now known as RENEGOTIATION of Landsdowne 1, waterfall drip, which has some years left to run is not sufficiently profitable to OSEG. Hence OSEG seems to be saying “if you do not like our newest offering then we will take our football, hockey team and newfound basketball team and go home!”
My reply might be Goodbye!, even though I watch and attend football and hockey games. I did listen to the Bulldog online coverage but not all of it. Thanks Ken
Simple question to residents and council. What would you prefer? A city with a nice playground for the developers to make money off, and failing infrastructure, transit and increasing homelessness combined with added huge debt OR a city known for fiscal prudence and a clean, safe environment where it is easy to get around and more people housed and cared for?
