On average a new landfill close to 20 years to gets through environmental assessment, land tribual appeals, lawsuits, appropriation, design and to be built. We are very behind the starting line.
Mike The TIME was or should have been 2010 or earlier but Ottawa fell in love with PLASCO and thought the city could make money off it and still dump garbage for free! Politicians seem to think all of life is free for them but taxpayers KNOW differently. Burnaby B.C. has had a mostly fault free incinerator working since 1980’s and Ottawa was presented with an EOI from that company but the politicos “lost” both copies of the EOI.
Miranda, add the explicit decision to not make a decision on a new landfill site to Jim Watson’s legacy. Sigh.
